Marcel Richaud

Marcel Richaud

A major figure in the Rhône Valley, Marcel Richaud played a decisive role in the recognition of the Cairanne vineyards and ultimately their classification as a cru (2016). Gradually taking over the family vineyards, originally destined for the cooperative winery, from 1974 onwards, he embarked on an increasingly demanding and rigorous path, seeking the greatest possible naturalness, inspired by figures like Marcel Lapierre (Beaujolais). The integration of his son Thomas (2009) and then his daughter Claire (2014) furthered the estate's development, which today boasts a diverse range of parcels (72 hectares) that produce a remarkable selection of wines. The aromatic generosity of the ripe fruit, the velvety texture of the juice, and the mineral imprint of the terroir constitute a truly distinctive signature, among the most significant in the Southern Rhône.
