After completing traditional oenology studies in Bordeaux, Jean-Yves Péron
He trained under exemplary winemakers – Thierry Allemand
(Cornas), Bruno Schueller (Alsace) – then in 2004 he created his
An estate in Savoie, in the Isère valley. Its small vineyard,
cultivated using biodynamic methods from the outset, it is located on the heights
from Albertville, notably with old Jacquère and Jacquère vines
Mondeuse on mica schist soil, as well as in Fréterive on terroir
clay-limestone, a total of 3 hectares increased since 2011 by purchases
organic grapes to Savoyard colleagues and also, from
2017, to winegrowers in the Italian Piedmont. Jean-Yves' practices
Péron's approach is uncompromising: no chemicals, no winemaking techniques
in whole bunches using carbonic maceration or punch-down fermentation
(except for a few cuvées made using direct pressing), interventions
minimalist, thus defining a very personal, natural style of whites
and reds with pronounced aromas and textures suitable for aging.
