Bruno Schueller
Dominated by the ruined keeps of the three castles of Éguisheim, the renowned neighboring village of Husseren-les-Châteaux is the highest wine-growing village in Alsace. Gérard Schueller, and later his son Bruno from 1982 onwards, are its leading figures, true pioneers of natural wine in Alsace. With no chemical treatments, the vines are cultivated with an uncompromising focus on expressing the terroir in all its facets. The 10 hectares of vineyards comprise various parcels in Husseren-les-Châteaux, as well as in the village of Obermorschwihr with its beautiful terroir of the Bildstoecklé lieu-dit, in addition to parcels in the two exceptional Grand Cru vineyards of Eichberg and Pfersigberg located in Éguisheim. Depending on the specific characteristics of each grape variety and each vine, or even certain parts of the vine, but also according to the options chosen by the winemaker, the wines paint a broad and original panorama of the diversity that the Alsatian vineyard offers.
