The Winegrowers

Élodie Balme

Elodie Balme

Coming from a family of cooperative winegrowers, Élodie Balme chose a different approach to viticulture, employing unconventional farming methods to better respect living organisms and using additive-free winemaking techniques. She nurtured her project during three years of training with Marcel Richaud, a pioneering figure in Cairanne, before gradually taking over the family vineyards from 2006 onwards. She has since built an estate that now encompasses 23 hectares located in Rasteau and Roaix (Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages) as well as Buisson (Côtes-du-Rhône), notably including old Grenache and very old Carignan vines. The sincerity of her approach is reflected in wines where the purity of the fruit and the precise expression of the terroir form a perfectly harmonious whole.
