The Winegrowers

Jean-François Ganevat

Returning in 1998 to the family estate (now 13 ha) located in the south of the Jura vineyard, in the Combe de Rotalier, after ten years spent in Burgundy, Jean-François Ganevat quickly rose to the forefront of a wine-growing region in full rediscovery. Colorful, gifted with strong charisma, a free winemaker, he contributes with passion to restoring the most brilliant and authentic colors to the Jura vineyard with exceptional Côtes-du-Jura – for the most part vinified plot by plot to be faithful to the expression of each terroir –, but also by bringing back into cultivation a few dozen “forgotten” grape varieties. Everything is absolutely recommendable, from the juicy red cuvée J'en Veux!!! (18 grape varieties) to the intense Savagnin Chalasses Marnes bleues , passing through the quintessential Chardonnay Chalasses Vieilles Vignes (1902) or Grusse en Billat or even Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes (1919). Vibrant wines which are not for nothing in the current craze for the Jura, to which are added various original cuvées of négociants.
