The Winegrowers

Laurent Roger

Laurent Roger

Drawing on his experience as a sommelier and champion of natural wines (at the cave-bar Le Verre Volé in Paris), Laurent Roger returned to his native Roussillon to take over, together with Mélissa Ingrand in 2017, the 2.5 hectares of vines that had belonged to his grandfather (including Grenache from the 1950s) and his father. With the addition of other plots, the estate quickly grew to 7 hectares spread between Rivesaltes and Espira-de-l'Agly, planted with various Mediterranean grape varieties as well as Merlot. Guided by the example of winemakers like Alain Castex (Le Casot des Mailloles) and the Danjou-Banessy brothers, he is committed to working without chemicals or oenological additives, crafting beautifully made cuvées with a free-spirited, frank, and indulgent style.
