The Winegrowers

Laurence & Rémi Dufaitre

Rémi and Laurence Dufaitre began establishing their Botheland estate in 2006 with vineyards located around Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières and within the Brouilly/Côtes-de-Brouilly appellation, which they converted to organic farming. After a few years contributing to the local cooperative, they created their own winery and began vinifying their Gamay (mostly from old vines) and Chardonnay grapes in 2010. Following in the footsteps of pioneers like Jean Foillard, and with the same commitment to natural viticulture and winemaking, the estate prioritizes both fruit freshness and terroir expression in wines that retain their appealing character, whether they are Beaujolais-Villages reds and whites, Brouilly and Côtes-de-Brouilly, or Juliénas.
