A teacher with a passion for viticulture – much like his friend Raphaël Monnier (Ratapoil) – Jean-Baptiste Menigoz began working part-time as a winemaker on a few rows of vines in 2000, seeking to gain experience. He then continued his apprenticeship with Stéphane Tissot, a background that enabled him to establish his small estate in 2012 near Arbois, in Abergement-le-Petit. Gradually expanding with new parcels, the estate soon encompassed 7 hectares in the Arbois and Côtes-du-Jura appellations and welcomed Florien Kleine Snuverink, a partner from Amsterdam, in 2014. A key player in the dynamic movement driving the Jura vineyards, the estate practices organic farming and natural winemaking. Grape variety by grape variety and according to the different terroirs of limestone soils or various marls, the cuvées offer pure and frank expressions, with fruit very present and always nuanced with a fine minerality: living wines which rank among the first gems of a vineyard that is now so prized.
